Consider comfort when buying a backpack sprayer pump

Backpack sprayers are commonly available in sizes ranging from 5-gallon to 30-gallon capacities which can weigh anything from 10- to -60 lbs.

While a larger sized sprayer may lessen the need for frequent refill stops, the larger capacity backpack sprayer pumps are often too heavy for many users when they are fully loaded to their maximum capacity. And all that extra weight will be resting squarely on the shoulders of the user.

When making your purchase makes sure the straps look strong enough to withstand the usual wear and tear that will take place over the many years you will be using the sprayer. Take a look at the webbed canvas or nylon material and especially the padding of the straps making sure there are no sharp protrusions that may stick uncomfortably into your shoulders while moving about with the fully loaded sprayer resting on your back.

Also try out the sprayer wand. Put the backpack on and see that you can comfortably control the sprayer wand while reaching for the pump lever with the other hand. Make sure you can reach everything and use everything comfortably with the sprayer on your back.

Today the makers of these types of sprayers try to cover all bases when it comes to the comfort of the user. But you must ensure that your specific needs are taken care of when you purchase a sprayer.
